On Friday May 17th at 21:00 p.m., the vintage cars of the 1000 Miglia 2019 will cross the finish line in Bologna, this is the arrival city of the third leg that started this morning from Rome.
After the break in the magnificent Piazza Il Campo of Siena (purposely covered by artificial grass to avoid the engine oil to ruin the square pavement), surrounded by thousands of enthusiasts, curious people and tourists of all nationalities, the teams left for Vinci, Montecatini, Pistoia, Florence and are now heading towards the Futa Pass and the Raticosa Pass before arriving in the evening in the capital of Emilia- Romagna.
On the 500th anniversary of the death of the Genius Da Vinci, the race could not miss a precision stage dedicated to him. On this time trial the PC 92 – Leonardo 500 7 the ranking says that the duo composed by Giovanni Moceri and Daniele Bonetti (Team Alfa Romeo), in an Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS of 1928, is confirmed at the top with 61869 points. In a provisional second place, but with a reduced gap from the first (424 points against 545 of the morning), the team of Andrea Vesco and Andrea Guerini (Team Villa Trasqua), with an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato of 1929, with 61445 points. Emotions are not lacking, also for the third position which, with 60792 points, is again occupied by the winning duo of the 1000 Miglia 2018, Juan Tonconogy and Barbara Ruffini, in a Bugatti Type 40 of 1927. Goes back ath the fourth place the O.M. 665 S SUPERBA 2000 of 1926, driven by Alberto Riboldi and Paolo Sabbadini.
On Saturday May 18th at 7.00 a.m. the classic cars will depart again from Bologna for the fourth and final leg of this 37th historic re-enactment. Concentration is a must, and tension is progressively increasing.
