1000 Miglia Charity Project
Also for 2022, the 1000 Miglia Charity project will wear pink. 1000 Miglia Srl, Organizer of the Event, has confirmed its collaboration with the IEO-MONZINO Foundation in support of the Research carried out within IEO Women’s Cancer Center, the first center in Italy dedicated to the world of women’s cancers.
From June 15 to 18, the world’s most valuable traveling museum will be colored pink. The 40th historical re-enactment of the 1000 Miglia, the Ferrari Tribute and the 1000 Miglia Experience will be joined by a special car with an all-female team captained by Viviana Galimberti, Director of the Division of Surgical Senology at the IEO-Istituto Europeo di Oncologia (European Institute of Oncology).
The presence of IEO’s Pink Car will be preceded by the 1000 Miglia Charity Dinner, the dinner organized by Area Docks that will “open” the Race week and serve to start fundraising in support of research. The rest will be done by the female Crews who will take turns in the 1,600-kilometer route. Once again this year, in fact, IEO’s Pink Car will take to the roads of Italy with the motto «Follow the Pink», an invitation to support research mile by mile. On board of the car will be many women, who will have the task of conveying IEO’s message from Brescia to Rome and back, in a long journey full of emotions and with great symbolic value.
Anyone can support the project by making a free donation through the specific crowdfunding page https://partecipa.fondazioneieomonzino.it/projects/1000-miglia-charity-2022-per-la-ricerca
The Women’s Cancer Center is the first center in Italy dedicated to the world of women’s cancer in its entirety: from managing the risk of getting sick, to early diagnosis, to treatment, to reintegration into daily life with the recovery of the individual life project. It is thus “a place for women”, dedicated to women’s health as a whole, for women who are doing prevention and for those who are experiencing or have experienced illness. The ultimate goal is that, once she crosses the threshold of the center, the woman will rely on her caregivers, without having to think about anything other than her well-being. The key words to describe the uniqueness of the Women’s Cancer Center are three: innovation, multidisciplinarity, and personalization. Together they translate concretely into prevention, early diagnosis, personalized care pathways, nutrition, sexuality, psyche, wellness, fertility, and aesthetic care.
