Iseo<\/strong>, Palazzolo sull’Oglio, Bergamo, Novara, Vercelli e Torino<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n

After departing from Viale Venezia, the competing cars passed through Iseo,<\/strong> Palazzolo sull’Oglio, Bergamo, Novara <\/strong>and Vercelli<\/strong> before arriving in Torino<\/strong> for the first leg finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palazzolo sull’Oglio<\/h2>\n\n

A thousand years of history to\u00a0discover<\/h4>\n\n\n

The City of Palazzolo sull\u2019Oglio<\/strong> was established at the end of the 12th<\/sup> century, but archaeological finds show that it was already an important communication network point between Brescia, Bergamo and Milan in late Roman times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today Palazzolo sull\u2019Oglio is a city of twenty thousand inhabitants, full of testimonies of its millenary history<\/strong>: a significant number of monuments<\/strong> of great historical and architectural value, as well as numerous cultural activities and endeavours<\/strong> that contribute to offering an attractive reality<\/strong>, all waiting to be discovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is no coincidence that every year since 2010, between May and June, Le Meraviglie della Terra del Fiume <\/em><\/strong>(The Wonders of the River Land) comes to life: the experiential and cultural tourism<\/strong> event organised by the Department of Cultural Planning and Tourist Promotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A true tourist season<\/strong>, made possible thanks to the contribution of numerous city associations<\/strong>, which aims to make the area\u2019s historical, artistic, environmental, cultural and productive heritage<\/strong> better known and more appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the many beauties of the city is certainly the Torre del Popolo<\/strong>, a true symbol of Palazzolo<\/strong>: at 92 metres high, it is Europe\u2019s tallest<\/strong> civic bell tower with a circular base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also not to be missed are the Castle<\/strong> (Rocha Magna) and the Rocchetta<\/strong> (Rocha Parva), the Torrione di Mura<\/strong> and its medieval village, the Teatro Sociale<\/strong>, the Parco delle Tre Ville<\/strong> with its Art Nouveau residences, the Parco Fluviale<\/strong> on the banks of the Oglio and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
