{"id":32342,"date":"2023-03-02T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-02T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/1000miglia.it\/?p=32342"},"modified":"2023-03-06T12:06:03","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T11:06:03","slug":"the-second-leg-of-the-coppa-delle-alpi-kicks-off-from-saint-moritz-to-innsbruck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/1000miglia.it\/en\/2023\/the-second-leg-of-the-coppa-delle-alpi-kicks-off-from-saint-moritz-to-innsbruck\/","title":{"rendered":"THE SECOND LEG OF THE COPPA DELLE ALPI KICKS OFF, FROM SAINT MORITZ TO INNSBRUCK"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The second day of the race starte<strong>d in <a href=\"https:\/\/1000miglia.it\/en\/events\/coppa-delle-alpi\/coppa-delle-alpi-2023\/i-luoghi-di-coppa-delle-alpi-2023\/\">Saint Moritz<\/a>, in front of the shopwindows of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chopard.com\/\">Chopard <\/a>boutique to continue<\/strong> in the direction of the picturesque <strong>frozen lake<\/strong> that skirts the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Immediately after the start, the cars are expected to take part in the series of <strong>Time Trials<\/strong> of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vredestein.co.uk\/\">Vredestein<\/a> Trophy, which will be held on the snow surface of the Montebello Quarry<\/strong>. This will be followed by <strong>the Average Trials on the Fuorn Pass<\/strong>, the last Swiss territory of the event, before returning to Italy from the Vinschgau Valley for the transit through the heart of the town of <strong>Glorenza<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will be followed by the <strong>Passage Control<\/strong> on the eastern shore of <strong>Lake Resia<\/strong>, which, in addition to being the largest lake in South Tyrol, is famous for its <strong>submerged bell tower<\/strong>, the last visible remnant of the small village of Curon Venosta, which has been lying at the bottom of its waters since 1950, when the lakes of Resia and Curon were unified with the construction of a large dam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a short break at the foot of the Belpiano Ski Area, we will set off again in a northerly direction towards the <strong>Reschen Pass<\/strong> to enter Austrian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the Average Trials in Falpaus, the participants will stop in <strong>Tarrenz<\/strong> for lunch and then head for the <strong>Fernpass<\/strong>, the last pass before crossing the borders of <strong>Germany<\/strong>, the fourth nation crossed by the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After transiting Garmisch-Partenkirchen, <a href=\"https:\/\/1000miglia.it\/en\/events\/coppa-delle-alpi\/coppa-delle-alpi-2023\/i-luoghi-di-coppa-delle-alpi-2023\/\"><strong>Mittenwald<\/strong><\/a> will host this edition\u2019s German Passage Controls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, the <strong>Average Trials<\/strong> among the dense trees <strong>of the Leutasch Valley<\/strong> will inaugurate the return to Austrian soil, and after that, drivers and co-drivers will head to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/1000miglia.it\/en\/events\/coppa-delle-alpi\/coppa-delle-alpi-2023\/i-luoghi-di-coppa-delle-alpi-2023\/\">Innsbruck<\/a><\/strong>, the capital of North Tyrol and the arrival city of the second day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second day of the race started in Saint Moritz, in front of the shopwindows of the Chopard boutique to continue in the direction of the picturesque frozen lake that skirts the town.
