The third edition<\/a><\/strong> of the Sorrento Roads by 1000 Miglia<\/strong> has ended. The winners were once again Alfonso Facchini and Luigia Olivetti with their B.M.W<\/strong>. 328 of 1938<\/strong>, thus achieving their third consecutive success on Sorrento soil and securing one of the two guarantees of acceptance <\/strong>up for grabs for the Coppa delle Alpi 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We really enjoyed these holiday and racing days, and the victory is just one more joy,” commented Facchini.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking the other pass for the next edition of the Coppa delle Alpi were Riccardo Fiorentini and Giovanna Ceci<\/strong> with their Porsche 911 T Targa from 1972<\/strong>, winners of the Trofeo Citt\u00e0 di Sorrento<\/strong> that took place in the afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completing the podium in the general classification were two splendid Porsche 356s<\/strong>. In second position was the 1955 1500 Speedster <\/strong>of Tarcisio Bonomi and Patrizia Codini<\/strong>; bronze medal instead for Alessandro Girardi and Simonetta Mastellini<\/strong>, who equalled last year’s result in their 1500 Coup\u00e9<\/strong>, also from 1955<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The morning opened with the exhibition of the competing cars at Villa Fiorentino. In addition to being admired by onlookers, the cars were assessed by a popular jury appointed for the occasion, which voted for the cars with the best design and style: the 1959 Mercedes Benz 300 S Roadster<\/strong> of De Sanctis-Desanctis Morbiducci triumphed in both categories among the historic cars (built before 1980). Among the post-1980s, Ficca-Caruso’s 2006<\/strong> Lamborghini Gallardo<\/strong> was voted best design while the most votes for styling went to Wagner-Wagner’s 2008 Ferrari California<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competitors meanwhile set sail for Capri<\/strong>, where they enjoyed a moment of relaxation before the last sporting act of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, the cars were lined up on Corso Italia, from where the 1 vs 1<\/strong> knockout<\/strong> Trophy<\/strong> dedicated to the City of Sorrento<\/strong> kicked off. Audience participation was warm, and the competitors made the challenge even more exciting and entertaining. After a balanced final exceptionally contested in the best-of-three, Riccardo Fiorentini and Giovanna Ceci with their 1972 Porsche 911 T Targa<\/strong> got the better of Tarcisio Bonomi and Patrizia Codini, who took second place with their 1955 Porsche 356 1500 Speedster<\/strong>, just like in yesterday’s race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don’t know what to say, we are novices so this victory gives us even more joy,’ <\/em>declared Riccardo Fiorentini and Giovanna Ceci at the end of the challenge, after exchanging a gesture of fair play with their adversaries. \u201cJust think, it was Tarcisio who gave us some advice in the hotel last night!<\/em> Thank you all, it was really great\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
