{"id":50087,"date":"2024-10-27T01:19:25","date_gmt":"2024-10-26T23:19:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/1000miglia.it\/?p=50087"},"modified":"2024-10-27T01:19:26","modified_gmt":"2024-10-26T23:19:26","slug":"third-leg-of-the-1000-miglia-warm-up-usa-the-fifth-edition-returns-to-pay-homage-to-the-white-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/1000miglia.it\/en\/2024\/third-leg-of-the-1000-miglia-warm-up-usa-the-fifth-edition-returns-to-pay-homage-to-the-white-house\/","title":{"rendered":"THIRD LEG OF THE 1000 MIGLIA WARM UP USA, THE FIFTH EDITION RETURNS TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE WHITE HOUSE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The last morning of the race went <strong>straight into action, 24 Time Trials<\/strong> prepared for the start of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Busy morning for the cars: first the stretch of dirt road in the heart of the countryside leading to the village of <strong>Unison<\/strong>, famous for the battle of the same name during the American Civil War, then the Average Trial in Waterford before entering <strong>Maryland<\/strong> where, heading down towards the Capital along the banks of the river, the eighth and final Average Trial of the race was held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later in the morning the drivers and co-drivers reached the <strong>Congressional Country Club in Bethesda<\/strong>, one of the most important clubs in the United States, host site of three US Open golf events and a PGA Championship. After the Passage Control and the final set of Time Trials, the crews arrived at the terrace for a lunch with a view as far as the eye can see of the prestigious green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the early afternoon, the cars headed towards the <strong>Italian Embassy<\/strong> in Washington DC, passing again, after the interruption of the last edition, through the capital\u2019s symbolic places: the <strong>Washington Monument<\/strong>, the <strong>United States Capitol <\/strong>until the customary tribute to the <strong>White House<\/strong>. After entering Italian soil, the crews were welcomed by the Italian Ambassador Mariangela Zappia, before tackling the seventh and final sector of the race that ended near the new <strong>Town Hall of Middleburg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tonight the announcement of the winners and the prize-giving ceremony.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last morning of the race went straight into action, 24 Time Trials prepared for the start of the day.
