The first day of the 1000 Miglia Experience Italy<\/strong> ended in a sunset-kissed Matera<\/strong>. The crews were welcomed by Piazza San Pietro Caveoso<\/strong>, with its splendid view of the Murgia<\/strong> which, combined with the liveries of the cars, offered a unique sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today’s leg stretched for 317 kilometres, from the centre of Sorrento<\/strong> to the City of Stones<\/em>. The morning began with views of the Amalfi Coast, <\/strong>which, helped by the sun and clear skies, showed off to the competitors in all its beauty. After passing through the first of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of this edition, the convoy headed for Salerno<\/strong> for a Passage Control<\/strong> in front of the Automobile Club<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crews then descended along the south coast to the island port of Marina di Arechi<\/strong>, where 5 Time Trials valid for the J.P. Morgan Trophy<\/strong> awaited them. Fabio Vergamini<\/strong> and Anna Maria Fabrizi<\/strong> (in a Ferrari 488 GTB<\/strong>), the crew that accumulated the fewest penalties in this first series of linked trials, will be presented with the trophy in the evening, dedicated to the Global Banking & Finance Partner<\/em> of this 1000 Miglia Experience Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After almost 70 kilometres by the sea, the crews then turned inland. After completing 2 Average Trials and another series of Time Trials, drivers and co-drivers stopped for lunch in Caggiano<\/strong>, a small village in the Salerno area that stands out among the greenery of the Vallo di Diano. When they set off again, the Average Trial in Tito inaugurated the resumption of sporting activities, followed by a passage through Potenza <\/strong>for a stamp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, the drivers had to face a demanding stretch of the race in the Apennines of Central Lucania<\/strong>, consisting of the Average Trial in Vaglio Basilicata, the 16 Time Trials in Cupolicchio, the Average Trial in Tricarico and another series of trials in Grassano.<\/p>\n\n\n
