The first leg of the Coppa delle Alpi St. Moritz Edition<\/strong>, the winter race organised by 1000 Miglia, has come to an end. In 2026, the famous Engadine resort is at the heart of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day began with technical and administrative checks, before the competition got underway<\/strong> with a first leg in the St. Moritz area. The route covered approximately 80 kilometres, featuring 23 Time Trials, two Passage Controls and two Time Controls.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 5 p.m., the first crew left the leaning tower behind and headed for Madulain, the smallest municipality in the Upper Engadine, for the first stages of this edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After four Time Trials between this idyllic oasis of tranquillity and the picturesque Romansh village of Zuoz<\/strong>, the next 10 Time Trials took place at the Cava di Montebello<\/strong> in nearby Pontresina, at the foot of the Bernina Pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retracing its route, the convoy then returned to Madulain and Zuoz for another series of trials, before the highlight of the day: the Five Time trials, also valid for the awarding of the \u201cTrofeo St. Moritz\u201d, on the legendary Bobrun di Celerina<\/strong>, the oldest natural bobsleigh track in the world, which hosted the Olympic Games in 1928 and 1948.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sun, which shines on the Alpine metropolis for over 300 days a year and did not disappoint today either, set and the 63 crews in the race returned to Via Maistra for the time control that brought the intense opening leg of the Coppa delle Alpi to a close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
