Seven Spirit of 1000 Miglia medals awarded during Monterey Car Week

During the Monterey Car Week 2023, a major gathering for car collectors and enthusiasts from all over the world, held every year in August in the California Bay Area, 1000 Miglia awarded the Spirit of 1000 Miglia prize to seven cars that were found to possess all the eligibility characteristics for the 1000 Miglia: a 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Castagna Cabriolet, a 1955 Porsche 356 1500 Speedster, a 1933 Bugatti Type 55 Roadster, a 1955 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT Series IV, a 1953 Siata 208S, a 1955 OSCA Comirato Crim Special and a 1953 Fiat 8V Zagato Berlinetta Elaborata. Numerous examples were also auctioned off over the various days: in particular, in the Gooding & Co Auction House sessions, the three lucky new owners of the 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Cabriolet by Castagna (sold for $4,515,000), the 1955 Porsche 356 1500 Speedster ($400,000) and the 1955 Lancia B20 GT Series IV ($240,800), already in possession of the Registro 1000 Miglia Pre-checked status certifying their eligibility for all 1000 Miglia events, were rewarded with acceptance to the Warm UP USA 2023. The very special Alfa 8C was also accepted for the 1000 Miglia 2024.
