THE SECOND EDITION OF THE SORRENTO ROADS BY 1000 MIGLIA KICKS OFF

All is ready for the second edition of the Sorrento Roads by 1000 Miglia, the format that will take the Red Arrow from the Gulf of Sorrento to the Gulf of Naples from Thursday 30th  March to Sunday 2nd  April, in the immensity of the Reggio di Caserta and among the steep cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, which among the citrus groves reveals glimpses of unique beauty, made even more unique by the colours of the sea that unite with the  mountains.

From 5.00 pm this afternoon in the Park of Villa Fiorentino, the headquarters of the Sorrento Foundation, there will be the administrative checks and scrutineering for the 35 competing cars, which tomorrow, Friday, 31st  March, will compete in a route that, always having its beating heart in the town of Sorrento, will circumnavigate the Vesuvius National Park, passing through the most striking and envied places in Campania.

After travelling along the south-eastern shore of the Gulf of Naples, the convoy will stop at the Reggia di Caserta, the largest royal residence in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the Air Force Centennial Trophy will be held. Descending through the Valico di Chiunzi, the crews will then enter the heart of the steep and jagged Amalfi Coast until reaching Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi which, as its name suggests, has the privilege of overlooking both the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Sorrento.

The second day, Saturday, 1st  April, under the banner of beauty and design, the exhibition of the cars in the heart of Sorrento will begin, between Piazza Andrea Veniero and the Foundation, with the opportunity to immerse oneself in local gastronomy and art, discovering the secrets of the cultivations of the lemons and the archaeological and figurative art treasures of the Correale Museum.

At the end of the day, the last sporting activity of the event: drivers and co-drivers will return to their cars to compete in the City of Sorrento Trophy just a few steps away from the historic centre, in exciting 1 vs 1 regularity challenges that will be decided to the hundredth of a second.
