Ginesi and Rohr win the Coppa delle Alpi 2024

Stefano Ginesi and Susanna Rohr confirmed their victory in the fourth Coppa delle Alpi, after five legs dominated in their 1934 Fiat 508 S Balilla Coppa D. Second place went to Belgians Michel Decremer and Marie Mertens in their 1951 Aston Martin Db2. On the third step of the podium were Sergio Carrara and Walter Consoli in their 1953 Jaguar XK 120 Ots, edging out the Shraders, who gave them a tough time right up to the last race.

The stopwatches started for the last time in Courmayeur, the finish location, after leaving Chamonix via the Mont Blanc Tunnel. In the pedestrian centre of Courmayeur then, the crews made their parade, at the end of a 1600-kilometre ride.

After the arrival, a cocktail reception was held, welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Courmayeur Federico Marco Perrin and Councillor Ephrem Truchet, during which the crews received a participation medal and Jeffrey Gault and Paul Mccarthy were also awarded the St. Moritz Trophy for being the best in the Time Trials in and out of the town, in their 1955 Jaguar XK 140.

The official award ceremonies will be held tomorrow at the Courmayeur Congress Centre, during the Final Conference, which aims to restore the sense of the thematic itinerary of the leg of the talk, mixing local good practices with direct testimony from the territories, local and non-local experts who took part in the Great Alpine Journey and who will share some reflections on the sense of the itinerary, on the development prospects opening up for the Alpine territories, on the sense of the idea of an Alpine platform and on the relationship between high and low lands in the foothills, between rural and urban dimensions.
