THE FIRST 1000 MIGLIA WARM UP AUSTRIA HAS NOW BEEN COMPLETED

The first winners of the 1000 Miglia Warm Up Austria were John and Chelly Houtkamp, who, competing in a 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C, were also guaranteed admission to the 1000 Miglia 2025. Two Italian crews were also on the podium: Massimiliano Mora and Osvaldo Bresciani in a 1952 Jaguar XK and Rudy Zucca and Giuseppe Ducoli in a 1950 Healey Silverstone. Finally, Cristian and Niccolò Galvagni in a 911 Carrera from 2024 won the Porsche Challenge.

The first leg on Friday 27 September proved particularly demanding not only for the drivers, but also for their cars. After a country passage just outside Salzburg, the crews were confronted with the high mountains of Carinthia and East Tyrol, where the weather conditions did not always assist them.

The passage along the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse took them as high as 2 500 metres above sea level, rewarding the participants with the sight of a unique mountain landscape, made even more distinctive by a light snowfall. Many of them even took a moment to take photographs, despite the tight schedule of the race.

Despite the fact that this was the first edition, the event attracted interest from the public, who warmly welcomed the event, especially in Mittersill, where events were organised for the occasion, but young and old also waited for the cars at the leg in Zell am See and St. Gilgen on Lake Wolfgang.

The event ended with the prize-giving gala at the exclusive location of Hangar 7 in Salzburg.
