The 1000 Miglia stops in Siena

On the third day of the race, the city of Siena hosted for lunch the crews of the 37th edition of the 1000 Miglia. After leaving Rome early in the morning, the crews parked their cars in Piazza Il Campo around 12:30. It is the first time in the history of the 1000 Miglia. A lot of enthusiasm along the streets of the historic center of Siena, crowded with onlookers, enthusiasts and tourists

The return journey will then resume headed towards Vinci, Montecatini Terme, Pistoia, Florence, and after crossing the Futa and the Raticosa passes, will end in Bologna, where the cars are expected by 9.15 p.m.

The third leg could be the decisive one and, after the precision stege 77 – Campiglia Orcia 8, the duo composed by Giovanni Moceri and Daniele Bonetti (Team Alfa Romeo) in an Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS of 1928, stay at the top of the ranking, with 54879 points. With a gap of 545 points, follows the crew of Andrea Vesco and Andrea Guerini (Team Villa Trasqua), with an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato of 1929, in second place with 54334. A new entry closes the podium compared to the previous rankings , which surpasses the duo Tonconogy-Ruffini: it is the OM 665 S SUPERBA 2000 of 1926, driven by Alberto Riboldi and Paolo Sabbadini, placed temporarily in third place, with 53405 points.
