Magni-Ferruta win the sixth 1000 Miglia Green

The Polestar 2 wins the 1000 Miglia Green 2024 with Mirco Magni paired with Alessandro Ferruta, after arriving in second place last year alongside Laura Confalonieri. Second were Alberto Naska and Matteo Ferraglio in a Tesla Model Y, while Leonardo Spacone and Fabio Sciarra in a Lancia Y completed the podium.

With the 1000 MIGLIA Green, now in its sixth edition, the full-electric cars have the opportunity to drive part of the Red Arrow route, thus testing the alternative-powered cars on a long and demanding route, which this year included 15 Time Controls, 83 Time Trials, 2 Average Trials and 18 Passage Controls.

Among the 7 cars taking part, a 2019 Kangaroo Concept and the 2023 Tesla Model Y finished second. In the Kangaroo was world-renowned designer and architect Fabrizio Giugiaro, whose family business has been writing pages of automotive design history for sixty years, making a fundamental contribution to vehicle development.

As in other years, to manage recharging in the best possible way, the crews alternated between race sectors and free transfer sectors. The leg locations were the same as for the 1000 Miglia 2024, namely Turin, Viareggio, Rome and San Lazzaro di Savena. The sporting activities, however, except for the first day (when they ended in Novara), stopped at the lunch locations: Genoa, Castiglione della Pescaia and then Solomeo. Finally, on Saturday 15 June, the 1000 Miglia Green covered the entire 132 kilometres from San Lazzaro di Savena to the finish in Brescia. The participating crews were thus able to enjoy the thronging crowds in the final kilometres on Lake Garda and at the arrival in Viale Venezia.
