The third and final leg of the 1000 Miglia Experience Italy has begun. After the Time Control in Lecce, the crews were welcomed at the Fortunato Cesari Military Airport in Galatina for a Passage Control, whilst in Martano, amongst the dolmens and menhirs, the challenges began with the first series of Time Trials.
In Otranto, there was a break just a stone’s throw from the Adriatic with the day’s Experience, but there are still many kilometres to cover before reaching the finish line in Taranto. The participants then followed the coastline along a breathtaking road suspended between lush greenery and the deep blue of the sea to reach Santa Maria di Leuca, at the Santuario de Finibus Terrae.
There, where the seas meet and where the ancient Romans routed the southernmost boundary of the Empire’s territories, there was time for a brief, refreshing break.
