THE 1000 MIGLIA SAYS GOODBYE TO SIENA AND HEADS FOR VIAREGGIO AND PARMA

Siena did not disappoint expectations. Piazza del Campo provided an extraordinary welcome for the 1000 Miglia cars. The famous piazza of the Palio delle Contrade was transformed into a spectacular open-air parking lot as the crews stopped for lunch. The cars were not the only thing to color the Campo. With 1000 Miglia, the tricolor also returned, stretched out on the brickwork to celebrate the Italian spirit in a place that represents our country all over the world.

After bidding farewell to Siena, the crews would resume their journey to cross the Val d’Elsa, where they were expected to undergo two stamp controls between Poggibonsi and San Miniato. Then the passage of Pontedera, the city of the Vespa, and the city crossing of Cascina. They would then stop near Viareggio, the “capital” of Versilia, and Sarzana, before heading up the Apennines from the Cisa Pass and arriving in Parma in the evening.
