On Friday 2 September, in Ghedi, the commander of the 6th Squadron, Colonel Giacomo Lacaita, inaugurated the “Diavolo Ghignante” (the “Sneering Devil”), symbol of the “Red Devils” of the 6th Air Force Squadron “Antonio Fusco”, which is now also a monument.
1000 Miglia, which has always been close to the Air Force, supported the production of the work created by Lieutenant Roberto Mega, a non-commissioned officer in the Squadron and a master sculptor by passion.
The “Sneering Devil”, made entirely by hand after months of heavy metal hammering, and treated with a chemical oxidation process to achieve a rusty finish, will remain intact and proud forever at the main entrance of the “Luigi Olivari” military Airport.
