Third Leg: in Switzerland the emotion of the Trials on the snow


Slightly overcast sky and temperatures close to zero for the start from the Bormio Ice Rink: with the start of crew number 4, Di Pietra-Di Pietra, the third leg started, after the Passage Control near the Sanctuary of Madonna di Tirano, and saw cars cross the borders of Italy, Switzerland and Austria.

Carried out a series of Average Trials that take the cars over the Bernina Pass, on the descent towards the heart of the Engadine, the cars will take part in the Time Trials on the Snow inside the Montebello Quarry, valid for the award of the Trophy named after St. Moritz. Skirting the Celerina Olimpic Bobrun, the cars arrived in the historic centre of St. Moritz for the Passage Control. Crossing the Val Müstair, with an Average Trial near the Fuorn Pass, the competitors entered Italian territory and had lunch in San Valentino alla Muta at an altitude of 2168m at the Rifugio, reached by cable car.
