Vredestein puts winter tyres to the test at Coppa delle Alpi 2023

As the “Official Tyre Partner” of the famous 1000 Miglia race for classic cars since 2017, Vredestein brand – part of Apollo Tyres – took part at the third edition of winter regularity race.

While conquering snow and mountain roads, on the second day of the event, a series of special Time Trials on snow was dedicated as “Vredestein Tyres Trophy”, putting the participants’ driving skills and their tyres to the ultimate test. Grip, control, accuracy and focus were keys to success. As winners of these Time Trials at the “Cava di Montebello”, Mario Passanante and Alessandro Molgora, both Italian, driving a 1955 Fiat 1100/103 Tv, got themselves the Vredestein Tyres Trophy and a complimentary set of Vredestein winter tyres.

Taking part in the winter regularity race for the Vredestein team were three cars driven by automotive influencers and car enthusiasts from the Netherlands and Poland. The teams consisted of Amrit Hoeba and Maurice Hartsuiker in a 1970 Porsche 911T Targa; Patryk Mikiciuk and Mateusz Zuchowski in a 1981 Ford Escort RS2000; and Ronny Groeneveld and Patrick Bosmann in their 1959 Porsche 356A 1600S Carrera GT.

Fitted to all of the Vredestein cars were the Vredestein Snow Classic, Wintrac and Snowtrac 5 winter tyres, all as limited edition “1000 Miglia” tyres, of which only 500 are produced each year.

Benoit Rivallant, President and CEO of Apollo Tyres Europe said; “The Coppa delle Alpi by 1000 Miglia is a highlight in any classic car enthusiasts’ calendar, and it is a big focus for our classic tyres team. Much like the Vredestein brand, this event is steeped in European heritage and offers a great platform to showcase our classic car product range – one of the largest available – alongside our modern tyres.”
