The last morning of the race went straight into action, 24 Time Trials prepared for the start of the day.
Busy morning for the cars: first the stretch of dirt road in the heart of the countryside leading to the village of Unison, famous for the battle of the same name during the American Civil War, then the Average Trial in Waterford before entering Maryland where, heading down towards the Capital along the banks of the river, the eighth and final Average Trial of the race was held.
Later in the morning the drivers and co-drivers reached the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, one of the most important clubs in the United States, host site of three US Open golf events and a PGA Championship. After the Passage Control and the final set of Time Trials, the crews arrived at the terrace for a lunch with a view as far as the eye can see of the prestigious green.
In the early afternoon, the cars headed towards the Italian Embassy in Washington DC, passing again, after the interruption of the last edition, through the capital’s symbolic places: the Washington Monument, the United States Capitol until the customary tribute to the White House. After entering Italian soil, the crews were welcomed by the Italian Ambassador Mariangela Zappia, before tackling the seventh and final sector of the race that ended near the new Town Hall of Middleburg.
Tonight the announcement of the winners and the prize-giving ceremony.

Leg 3️⃣: the last 246 km before the final finish line📍
1️⃣7️⃣ Time Trials at the Salmander Resort and Spa, 7️⃣ Time Trials in Atoka Chase and Average Trials in Waterford were the last activities on Virginia soil. Crossing the Potomac River from the Point of Rocks Bridge, the crews reached Maryland 🇺🇸, where they were challenged in the Dickerson Average Trial.
Upon reaching the Congressional Country Club, the seventh and last Passage Control and Time Trials preceded the lunch break.
With lunch over, the convoy arrived in the heart of the Capital, skirting Washington landmarks such as the Washington Monument and the United States Capitol.
After the customary tribute to the White House, the convoy drove to the Italian Embassy (@italyinus) 🇮🇹
The last sector of the race started from Italian soil and ended near Middleburg’s new Town Hall.

Attraversato il Potomac dal Point of Rocks Bridge, gli equipaggi hanno raggiunto il Maryland 🇺🇸, dove si sono misurati nella Prova di Media di Dickerson.
Raggiunto il Congressional Country Club, settimo e ultimo Controllo Timbro e Prove Cronometrate hanno anticipato la sosta pranzo.
Terminato il pranzo, il convoglio ha raggiunto il cuore della Capitale, costeggiando i simboli di Washington come il Washington Monument e lo United States Capitol.
Dopo l’immancabile omaggio alla White House, il convoglio ha raggiunto l’Ambasciata italiana (@italyinus) 🇮🇹
L’ultimo settore di gara ha preso il via dal suolo italiano e si è concluso nei pressi della nuova Town Hall di Middleburg.

After the Time Trials at Summit Point Motor Park, the last Average Trial along Frogtown Road brought the participants back to Middleburg for the long-awaited return of the 1vs1 challenge: a first qualifying round and a second elimination round to win the Middleburg Trophy 🏆

Departing from @townofmiddleburg, after the trials of the day near the city’s educational institution, the cars proceeded towards West Virginia, carrying out the first Passage Controls at Warren County Airport ✈️
The first Average Trial along Fort Valley and the second through the picturesque Kennedy Peak valley preceded the second Passage Control of the day.
The drivers were then challenged in the Time Trials at the @barboursvillevineyards🍷in the heart of the Virginia countryside.
After a stroll through the ruins of Governor Barbour’s home, the crews set off again and, after the Time Trials on the way out of the winery, there were 140km and the Haywood and Carters Run Average Trials to take them back to the Leg finish line📍
Arriving in Middleburg, this year’s new feature: the night race sector. LED-lit pressure gauges were the backdrop for the last 10 Time Trials of the day at the private area of Atoka Chase 🆕

Partiti da @townofMiddleburg, dopo le prime prove di giornata nei pressi dell’istituto scolastico cittadino, le auto hanno proseguito in direzione Virginia Occidentale, effettuando il primo Controllo Timbro al Warren County Airport✈️
La prima Prova di Media lungo la Fort Valley e la seconda attraverso la suggestiva vallata di Kennedy Peak hanno anticipato il secondo Controllo Timbro di giornata.
A seguire i driver si sono misurati nelle Prove Cronometrate nella cantina di @barboursvillevineyards🍷nel cuore della campagna della Virginia.
Dopo un passeggio tra le rovine della casa del Governatore Barbour, gli equipaggi sono ripartiti e, imboccate le Prove Cronometrate in uscita dall’azienda vinicola, sono stati 140 km e le Prove di Media di Haywood e Carters Run a riportarli verso il traguardo di Tappa📍
Arrivati a Middleburg, la novità di quest’anno: il settore di gara in notturna. I pressostati illuminati a LED sono stati lo sfondo delle ultime 10 Prove Cronometrate di giornata presso l’area privata di Atoka Chase 🆕

On this day of training at Summit Point Circuit, the crews deepened the techniques of regularity racing during both theoretical and practical sessions 🚗💪🏻
🏆 At the end of the activities, the best crew in the Time Trials and Average Trials on the circuit and in Roadbook navigation along the route back to the Salamander Resort will be awarded the Micro 1000 Miglia trophy.

Every year, after the administrative and technical checks, there is the sealing ceremony: in the days of the historic 1000 Miglia, the seal was placed on the engine, to avoid substantial modifications to the car.
Today, the sealing ceremony is purely symbolic and the seal is placed around the steering column.

Ogni anno, dopo le verifiche tecniche e sportive, si ripete il rito della punzonatura: ai tempi della 1000 Miglia storica il punzone veniva posto a sigillo del motore, per evitare modifiche sostanziali alla vettura.
Oggi, la punzonatura è puramente simbolica e il punzone viene apposto attorno al piantone dello sterzo.
