1000 MIGLIA EXPERIENCE USA FLORIDA: CHECKS AND TRAINING IN MIAMI TODAY, THE RACE STARTS TOMORROW

The wait for the Red Arrow’s debut in the Sunshine State is over: the 70 crews taking part completed the checks this morning near their hotel in Coral Gables, while in the afternoon (local time) they will take part in training sessions overlooking the ocean at Matheson Hammock Park & Marina, designed to help competitors become familiar with the rules and techniques of Italian regularity racing.

The event is organised by EGA Worldwide under licence from 1000 Miglia, with the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy in Miami, NIAF, ACI and ACI Storico.

In addition to cars built between 1927 and 1957 (1000 Miglia Originals), the competing cars also include other examples of more recent classic cars (Classic Icons) and modern Supercars, in line with the Experience format, designed to allow Red Arrow enthusiasts to learn and deepen their knowledge of regularity racing rules, savouring the 1000 Miglia Style atmosphere in exclusive contexts and tailor made events: an opportunity for selected Supercars and Hypercars to compete alongside prestigious classic cars, including a 1955 Ferrari 750 Monza and a 1953 250 MM, which stand out on the list of cars at the start in Florida.

The race starts tomorrow morning: the first of the three legs will cross the wild landscapes of the Everglades national park and the cars will reach Naples, and then pass through Fort Myers, Venice and St. Petersburg to end the day’s racing in Tampa.

On the second day, the competitors will return to the south-eastern coast of Florida, passing by Cape Canaveral, and then descend to the finish line in West Palm Beach. On Tuesday 25th February, they will return to Miami, where they will pass through the symbolic places of the Magic City before finally arriving in Miami Beach.
