THE 1000 MIGLIA CONTINUES TO GO TO SCHOOL

The second edition of “The 1000 Miglia goes to school” has just concluded and next year’s edition has already been confirmed: the project promoted by the Automobile Club of Brescia and 1000 Miglia Srl will continue to tell the story of the Most Beautiful Race in the World to new generations during the 2025-2026 school year.

Over the past few months, Professor Elena Pala, lecturer in History at the University of Milan, has spoken to primary and secondary school students about the strong impact that the 1000 Miglia has had on the modernisation of many sectors, primarily motoring and infrastructure, but also industry, technology, art, customs and tourism. In addition to schools in Brescia and its province, the 2024/2025 edition of the project involved 13 schools in towns along the race route (Forlì, Sansepolcro, Prato, Foiano della Chiana, Siena, San Marino and Bovolone), with over 2,000 students taking part in the meetings.

During the workshop, the students created drawings and projects on the theme. The Art Competition Jury – composed of representatives from AC Brescia and 1000 Miglia S.r.l. – awarded the prize for the best project to the Scuola Audiofonetica di Brescia, divided into three different artistic fields: the lower secondary school interpreted the spirit of the 1000 Miglia through painting, the primary school created two works. The first created an artistic performance based on postcards made unique by the creativity of the pupils, which will travel with the 1000 Miglia 2025, collecting stamps from the places they visit. The second produced about sixty original pieces shaped and painted by the pupils, depicting cars.

The prize giving ceremony, presided over by the President of the Automobile Club of Brescia, Aldo Bonomi, and the President of 1000 Miglia Srl, Beatrice Saottini, sealed the bond between young people and the 1000 Miglia, celebrating creativity and stimulating curiosity.

The winning design of the second edition of “The 1000 Miglia goes to school” will be unveiled at the 1000 Miglia 2025 and will be reproduced on materials celebrating the project.
