1000 Miglia and Roarington: the legend of the Red Arrow enters the digital world

As the Centenary in 2027 approaches, the history and charm of the 1000 Miglia take on a new dimension. On Monday 12 October, at the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile (MAUTO) in Turin, Roarington World – the digital ecosystem created to promote the culture and heritage of historic motoring – was unveiled.

1000 Miglia Digital Experience

The event marked the debut of the 1000 Miglia Digital Experience, a project born from the collaboration between 1000 Miglia Srl and Roarington with the aim of making the legacy of the Red Arrow accessible to a global audience. Through this platform, enthusiasts from all over the world can immerse themselves in the history of the race, explore legendary models and relive some of the race’s most iconic moments.

Alongside the narrative, the digital experience also introduces the public to the more technical aspects of today’s race: users can test their skills directly with the dynamics of regularity racing, practising the precision required on the pressure switches that characterise today’s 1000 Miglia.

The presentation at MAUTO

The evening in Turin was attended by numerous industry figures, collectors and international partners. Among the speakers, the CEO of 1000 Miglia Srl Fulvio D’Alvia highlighted the value of the initiative alongside Roarington’s founder Fritz Kaiser, MAUTO’s President Benedetto Camerana, Mercedes-Benz Heritage’s CEO Marcus Breitschwerdt and Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen, who was present to try out the simulators for himself.

The deep connection between tangible heritage and digital innovation was highlighted by the display of the Lancia D24 (victorious in the 1000 Miglia 1954 with Alberto Ascari), flanked for the occasion by its “digital twin”. This is an example of how new technologies can complement the history of the automobile and preserve its values, creating a valuable tool for introducing younger generations to the world of the Red Arrow, as well as to the culture of historic motoring and regularity racing.
