The connection between the 1000 Miglia and Brescia is being renewed in the spirit of remembrance and passion with the ninth edition of the Roberto Gaburri Trophy, named in memory of the first President of 1000 Miglia Srl.
On the opening day of the Village in Piazza Vittoria, Sunday 7 June, the event will offer a spectacular prologue to the most beautiful race in the world, allowing for a final test of the cars before the official start of the 44th edition of the historic re-enactment.
From 6.30 pm, a selection of 100 cars from those entered in the 1000 Miglia and the Ferrari Tribute will compete in a unique setting, transforming the heart of Brescia into a circuit of extraordinary elegance and precision. The line-up will take place within the Piazza Vittoria Village between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm. Following the briefing with the clerk of the course, the first car will set off to drive through the streets of the historic centre until reaching the Castle.
The race will get into full swing with three series of Time Trials spread across Corso Zanardelli, Via Brigida Avogadro and the Castle, before concluding with the arrival of the first car in the picturesque setting of Piazza Paolo VI at around 6.50 pm.
Whilst the official classifications will be available online later this evening, the winners of the Gaburri Trophy will be announced on Saturday 13 June during the final prize-giving ceremony of the 1000 Miglia 2026.
The Gaburri Trophy thus stands not only as a heartfelt tribute to a central figure in the history of the Red Arrow, but also as a key opportunity to test the mechanics of the cars in a festive and expectant atmosphere, foreshadowing the magical atmosphere that will soon envelop the entire country.
On the tenth anniversary of the passing of Roberto Gaburri, Giuseppe Cherubini will also be remembered at the start of the Trophy; for years he was the “father” of the 1000 Miglia route and was bound to the first president of 1000 Miglia Srl by a deep friendship.
