The 44th historic re-enactment of the 1000 Miglia has finally set off!
Right on time, at 11.30 am this morning, the first car drove onto the ramp on Viale Venezia to kick off the most beautiful race in the world. Before the eyes of the public and under a blazing sun, the more than 430 crews immediately tackled the first Time Trial as they climbed towards Brescia Castle, an excellent way to get straight to grips with the pressure switches.
The convoy is now heading towards a first-ever visit: for the first time, the Red Arrow will pass through Val Trompia and Val Gobbia. Key moments of this first part of the leg will be the Passage Control at Gardone Val Trompia at the Beretta headquarters to celebrate the company’s historic 500th anniversary, and lunch in Lumezzane, where participants will be welcomed at the Saleri stadium, decked out in the Italian tricolour.
