The fifth and final leg of the 1000 Miglia 2026 set off this morning at 6.30 am from a sunny Rimini, with the crews ready to return to Brescia after covering almost 2,000 kilometres. In the early morning in Rimini, numerous onlookers turned out to see off the start of the most beautiful race in the world.
After the Passage Control in Piazza Garibaldi in Cervia, the participants will tackle the first Time Trials.
The convoy will then return to the centre of Ferrara for a Time Control in Corso Porta Reno, passing by the Castello Estense, before crossing the River Po and entering Veneto at Occhiobello, where the final and decisive pressure switch check of this edition of the 1000 Miglia will take place.
Once in Lombardy, the race will offer a spectacular entrance to Mantua, crossing the San Giorgio Bridge over the Mincio, with a monumental view of the historic centre, before heading towards the final lunch of the race at the Fruttiere of Palazzo Te.
The updated classifications after the fourth leg see the Argentine crew of Juan and Margarita Tonconogy still topping the leaderboard, whilst Brescia’s Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli are forced to play catch-up. The morning will be decisive. Who will emerge victorious on the Viale Venezia ramp in Brescia? We won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
