The second leg of the 1000 Miglia 2026 set off from Padua

The second day of the 1000 Miglia 2026 got underway this morning against the spectacular backdrop of Prato della Valle in Padua, under a leaden but mild sky that provided some relief from the summer heat of the first leg. At the Time Control, surrounded by a crowd of onlookers with phones in hand to capture the crews, the top of the classification was held by favourites Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli, who managed to overtake the Tonconogy brothers, who had come out on top in yesterday’s trials in the Brescia area. Third place went to Lorenzo and Mario Turelli, although there are many familiar names in the upper reaches of the classification aiming for the top spots.

This morning, following the passage control at Montegrotto Terme and a series of Time Trials set amidst the greenery of the Euganean Hills, the convoy will carry out a passage control at Valbona Castle in Lozzo Atestino, before returning to the pressure switches in the picturesque town centre of Este, a true hidden gem nestled amongst the Veneto hills. The cars will then head towards the River Po at Pontelagoscuro, a historic border marking the entry into Emilia-Romagna. The programme then includes the Time Control in Ferrara, the city where this year’s “figure-of-eight” route will intersect. In the shadow of Palazzo Prosperi-Sacrati and following the passage control in Bondeno, the race will enter the beating heart of Motor Valley. Palazzo Ducale in Modena, home to the Military Academy, will host the race lunch.
