1000 Miglia 2021: entries open on November 19th

Entries for the 1000 Miglia 2021 will open tomorrow, 19th November. Only seven months after last October’s autumn edition, the race returns to its original scheduling: the 39th re-enacment of the 1000 Miglia will start from Brescia on Wednesday, 12th May, where it will finish on Saturday, 15th May, with Rome as the turning point (information and entries at www.1000miglia.it).

375 cars will be admitted to the 1000 Miglia 2021: entries will close on 18th January 2021 and the cars accepted for the race will be announced at the end of the selection, made by the specific Examination Committee, no later than 9th March. Here the list of eligible cars.

THE ROUTE

The 2021 race will follow the tradition of the route, from Brescia to Rome and back, with legs in Viareggio and Bologna, but this edition will introduce an absolute novelty for the re-enactment of the 1000 Miglia: for the first time ever, the race will take place in the opposite direction of the recent editions, driving in the counter-clockwise direction of many editions of the original speed race. From Brescia, the crews will head towards the Tyrrhenian coast and stop in Viareggio, leaving the next day for Rome. The third leg will start in the Capital, go up north and end beyond the Apennines, in Bologna. The fourth and last leg, from Bologna, will finish with the traditional arrival in Brescia. A feature that will satisfy many fans of the race will be a new route leading the crews to face, for the first time, three mountain passes: the Cisa Pass in the first leg and the Futa and Raticosa Passes on the third day.

1000 MIGLIA GREEN – CROSSING THE FUTURE

The 39th edition of the 1000 Miglia will also see the return of the 1000 Miglia Green, which is dedicated to a limited number of alternative fuel hyper cars and will take place alongside the race of vintage cars, confirming once again the Red Arrow’s mission: to be a living point of contact between the celebration of tradition and a workshop on the future of cars and mobility, summarized in the slogan Crossing the Future.
