A HUNDRED-YEAR LONG FLIGHT

Today marks the 100th birthday of the Italian Air Force and the 1000 Miglia will also be celebrating this important anniversary throughout the year.

The first event is scheduled for Friday 31st March when, on the first day of the Sorrento Roads by 1000 Miglia, the Air Force Centenary Trophy will be awarded, contested in the majestic setting of the Reggia di Caserta, home of the Air Force Specialists School.

The official tribute, however, will be the one scheduled from 13th to 17th June, when the 1000 Miglia 2023 will become the only itinerant event to be included in the calendar of celebrations: after the overflight of the National Aerobatic Team of the Frecce Tricolori at the start of the Race, on each of the five race days the Red Arrow will pay homage to symbolic places of the Air Force: the Ghedi Military Airbase, the Passignano Military Airport, the Vigna della Valle Air Force Historical Museum, the Piacenza San Damiano Airport, the Milan 1st Air Region Command.
