THE SECOND LEG OF THE COPPA DELLE ALPI KICKS OFF, FROM SAINT MORITZ TO INNSBRUCK

The second day of the race started in Saint Moritz, in front of the shopwindows of the Chopard boutique to continue in the direction of the picturesque frozen lake that skirts the town.

Immediately after the start, the cars are expected to take part in the series of Time Trials of the Vredestein Trophy, which will be held on the snow surface of the Montebello Quarry. This will be followed by the Average Trials on the Fuorn Pass, the last Swiss territory of the event, before returning to Italy from the Vinschgau Valley for the transit through the heart of the town of Glorenza.

This will be followed by the Passage Control on the eastern shore of Lake Resia, which, in addition to being the largest lake in South Tyrol, is famous for its submerged bell tower, the last visible remnant of the small village of Curon Venosta, which has been lying at the bottom of its waters since 1950, when the lakes of Resia and Curon were unified with the construction of a large dam.

After a short break at the foot of the Belpiano Ski Area, we will set off again in a northerly direction towards the Reschen Pass to enter Austrian territory.

After the Average Trials in Falpaus, the participants will stop in Tarrenz for lunch and then head for the Fernpass, the last pass before crossing the borders of Germany, the fourth nation crossed by the race.

After transiting Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald will host this edition’s German Passage Controls.

Instead, the Average Trials among the dense trees of the Leutasch Valley will inaugurate the return to Austrian soil, and after that, drivers and co-drivers will head to Innsbruck, the capital of North Tyrol and the arrival city of the second day.
