Arrival in Gstaad in the rain

After lunch at the Museum, the crews set off again via the historic centre of Lucerne. The sky had already been threatening for a couple of hours and, shortly after the restart Time Control at 15:30, it began to rain. Continuing into the Canton of Bern, the competitors faced the Schallenberg Average Trial under pouring rain.

As they entered the Saanen region and approached Gstaad, the special atmosphere of this part of Canton Bern became more and more apparent, with its flower-filled meadows, grazing animals and wooden buildings. In the pedestrian centre, these are home to restaurants and pretty shops. By 19:00, all the cars were at the T.C., putting an end to a long day of racing, made even more arduous by the bad weather.

Tonight at dinner, there will be a discussion on Agri-Food Production In The Mountains, in particular dairy farming and cheese processing. Participants will include David Schmid, Municipal Councillor of Saanen, Ariane Ludwing, Marketing Manager of Gstaad Saanenland Tourism, Corinne Reuteler, Artistic Director of the Menuhin Festival, Dominik Matti, farmer, and Andreas Zoppas from the Municipality of Saanen.
