In line with the Corporate Social Responsibility activities launched in recent years, 1000 Miglia intends to promote the involvement of members of the Technical Support Convoy – race start and race end, mechanical assistance and reference cars for distance and order within the convoy – in initiatives of social interest, through a free and supportive gesture aimed at bringing the spirit of 1000 Miglia to people in vulnerable conditions.
The first event took place on Saturday 13 December at 10:00 a.m.: some members of the CTS 1000 Miglia met with guests from the Nikolajewka Social Cooperative in Brescia, with whom they spent the morning of Saint Lucy’s Day sharing moments of serenity and joy. Several classic cars were also present for the occasion, offering a small taste of the authentic 1000 Miglia style.
“The history of the 1000 Miglia is based on an essential principle: responsibility,” – says Aldo Bonomi, President of the Automobile Club of Brescia – “Responsibility towards the city of Brescia, the cradle of the event, towards the territories crossed and towards the people and communities that gravitate around the 1000 Miglia universe. With this in mind, the Company promotes various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives every year, ranging from support for solidarity and health projects to the promotion of culture, education and sustainability.
The project aimed at the Technical Support Convoy is a concrete response to the request for support from the most vulnerable communities in the Brescia area: 1000 Miglia wants to stand by those in difficult situations and does so by using the tools at its disposal, involving the people and cars that contribute to making the event unique every year.
My personal thanks, together with that of the entire 1000 Miglia team, go to the members of the Technical Support Convoy who have enthusiastically joined the initiative, dedicating part of their free time to this new project.”
In the coming months, new meetings will be organised with the same methods and objectives, dedicated to other facilities and organisations in the area, which will be accompanied by a training course that already includes the Route Commissioner’s Licence, fire safety, first aid and safe driving certifications.
