A GOOD START FOR THE TALK “1000 FORME: DESIGNED TO WIN”

The sumptuous 18th century architecture of the Foyer of the Teatro Grande in Brescia hosted the debut edition of 1000 Forme: designed to win, a talk presented by the Registro 1000 Miglia and dedicated to the stylistic evolution of the cars that have raced in the 1000 Miglia.

On the stage were car design masters of the calibre of Luciano D’Ambrosio, CEO of DEsDir LDA Design and Design Solutions, Mario Vernacchia, CEO and Managing Director of Vernacchia Design Group, and Andrea Zagato, CEO of Zagato; with whom they talked about the decisive role that aerodynamics has played in the heroic feats of motorsport and particularly at the 1000 Miglia speed races.

Other speakers also included Pietro Camardella, formerly at Pininfarina and designer of some of the most iconic Ferraris, and Paolo Mazzetti, President of the Management Committee of the Registro 1000 Miglia and historical expert on the Red Arrow.

What better way to bring the history of the 1000 Miglia to life than with the story of Alfredo Coppellotti, President of the Mille Miglia Club, who drove those cars, competing in the 1000 Miglia speed races three times: in 1953, 1954 and 1955.

I hope that what we have seen here today is the first step on a long journey that will help to highlight the realities and people who have done and are still doing great things in favour of knowledge and the development of ideas and technology. I want to believe that even the youngest among us can become passionate about and dedicate themselves to the culture of these jewels: knowing their origins is certainly necessary and fertile ground for the future.

Fulvio D’alvia, 1000 Miglia CEO
