THE COPPA DELLE ALPI 2025 IS UNDERWAY

40 cars at the start of the race in Corso Zanardelli, Brescia

The day before race day it poured with rain, giving drivers and navigators no respite during the checks or the inaugural edition of the Città di Brescia Trophy in Piazza Vittoria. Finally, the sun returned, albeit timidly, at the start of the Coppa delle Alpi 2025. The winners of yesterday’s 1 vs 1 challenge, Alberto Aliverti and Alessandro Polini, commented on their success in the Trophy in their 1937 Fiat 508 C: “It was a pleasant novelty, the challenge in Piazza Vittoria was nice, and we won so we’re even happier – but they don’t reveal too much about the race – we still have to start and we regulars are superstitious, we hope to do well’.

Once the convoy had left Corso Zanardelli, it headed towards Via Brigida Avogadro for the first series of Time Trials of the race, which continued, as in the 1000 Miglia, along Via Castello. Once out of the City Of The 1000 Miglia, the crews headed for the Franciacorta vineyards, specifically Bornato, where a second series of trials awaited them. After that, they began the ascent towards the Alps, which, skirting the eastern shore of Lake Iseo, taking them to Valcamonica.

Exceptionally, passing over the historic Montecchio Bridge, which is normally closed to traffic, the convoy will enter the territory of Darfo Boario Terme, where 11 Time Trials will be held along the Corni Freschi archaeological site. This will be followed by a Time Control and a passage control at the Parco delle Terme di Boario. They then leave the territory of the province of Darfo Boario Terme, taking Via Panoramica, with a view over the Media Valcamonica, approximately 45 kilometres of territory that the crews will have to cross before turning towards the Aprica Pass, for a Passage Control, marking their entry into the Valtellina.

Tirano will then host the first race lunch of the event. After hosting the paddock and the start of the Coppa delle Alpi 2023, the town in Valtellina returns as the protagonist of the 1000 Miglia winter competition with a Time Control in Piazza Cavour.
