1000 Miglia 2026: heading for the Adriatic

From the panoramic views of the Apennines to the Adriatic horizon. The fourth leg of the 1000 Miglia 2026 is drawing to a close after an intense and spectacular day, which saw the classic cars set off from Rome to travel up the peninsula through the green heart of Italy.

The morning began along the roads of Terni and Foligno, reaching its emotional peak in Assisi: here, the passage through the forecourt of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Porziuncola celebrated the Red Arrow’s tribute to St Francis, eight hundred years after his death. Before stopping for lunch in the medieval Piazza Quaranta Martiri in Gubbio, the crews also tackled a series of Time Trials and a Passage Control in the picturesque centre of Gualdo Tadino, which was packed with spectators for the occasion.

In the afternoon, the convoy tackled the hairpin bends of the SS3 and entered the Marche region, passing through the picturesque Gola del Furlo for a new series of Time Trials followed by a long stretch of breathtaking bends, natural beauty and a unique panorama offering a privileged view of the Adriatic Sea.

The entry into the Republic of San Marino took place along the Montegiardino road, before the TT stages on Via Gamella. From here, the climb towards the historic centre began: the cars ascended into the heart of the Titano for the iconic Passage Control in Piazza della Libertà, welcomed by an extraordinary crowd. The finish line now awaits the classic cars in Rimini in Piazza Malatesta.

The Classification

A look at the recordings updated at TT112 shows the crew of Juan and Margarita Tonconogy still leading the classic car race. In second place are Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli, whilst the virtual podium is completed by the duo of Lorenzo and Mario Turelli.

As for the other categories, the results reveal the respective provisional leaders: in the Gran Turismo Experience, the crew of Shimitzu Ryotaro and Jari-matti Johannes Latvala lead the classification, whilst in the Ferrari Tribute, Vittorino Bertaglia and Giordano Mozzi remain at the top. Tomorrow will see the return to Brescia, the decisive day to find out who will win the 1000 Miglia 2026.
