The second edition of the 1000 Miglia Talk will take place on Monday 8 June at 5.00 pm in the Ridotto of Brescia’s Teatro Grande. The event is part of the programme of activities leading up to the start of the 1000 Miglia 2026.
Organised by the Registro 1000 Miglia, the initiative reaffirms its commitment to promoting the historical, technical and cultural heritage linked to the Red Arrow and the cars that have shaped its history: the theme, “1000 Innovazioni – Ingegneria, collaudo, sperimentazione” (1000 Innovations – Engineering, Testing, Experimentation), offers a reflection on the race’s contribution to the technical development of the automobile and Italian manufacturing culture.
The programme, moderated by Marco Pascali and Laura Confalonieri, Deputy Editors of Quattroruote and Ruoteclassiche respectively, will bring together contributions from various sectors of the automotive industry, with the participation of academics, engineers, designers, communicators and professionals working in design, testing and race support, reinterpreting the 1000 Miglia as a context for technical development, field testing and innovation, and highlighting its role in the evolution of the automobile.
At the heart of the discussions will be the role historically played by the 1000 Miglia as a testing ground for the technical evolution of the automobile: the demands of the race, the complexity of the route and the constant challenge of the race’s limits have in fact fostered the development of design and construction solutions that have also found application in automotive production, contributing significantly to the sector’s progress.
In this context, Brescia is called upon to preserve and promote a legacy that unites territory, memory and technical expertise, including through the contribution of the newly established 1000 Miglia Foundation and with a view to increasing international visibility.
Ahead of the Centenary in 2027, the 1000 Miglia Talk stands as a valuable opportunity for in-depth discussion, serving to reaffirm the historical, cultural and strategic significance of the 1000 Miglia and to pass on its value to new generations.
