Exhibition opens at the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy “The 1000 Miglia d’Italia. Building a national icon since 1927

A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at Palazzo Piacentini, headquarters of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, for the exhibition “The 1000 Miglia d’Italia. Building national excellence since 1927”. At the opening, the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, played host and delivered the official welcome. Also present were the president of the Automobile Club of Brescia, Aldo Bonomi, the president of 1000 Miglia Srl, Beatrice Saottini, and the company’s CEO, Fulvio D’Alvia.

“The history of the 1000 Miglia, founded almost a century ago, has left a profound mark not only on Italy’s sporting tradition, but also on the country’s technological and entrepreneurial heritage,” said Minister Urso. “The 1000 Miglia embodies Italy’s ability to blend identity, history, culture and the nation’s landscape into a unique narrative recognised worldwide. In this sense, cars and racing become an authentic expression of Made in Italy: symbols of ingenuity, passion, innovation and beauty. The 1000 Miglia thus continues to be a source of inspiration even for those who today face the challenges of science and technology, demonstrating how tradition and innovation can come together and find an extraordinary synthesis in sport.”

The exhibition, curated by Elena Pala, recounts almost a century of Italian history through engineering excellence, design, culture and the country’s landscape.

The exhibition will remain open to the public with free admission every day until 13 June 2026. At weekends and on public holidays, including 2 June, visiting hours will be from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Furthermore, on Thursday 11 June, to mark the arrival of the 1000 Miglia in Rome on Via Veneto, there will be a special extended opening until midnight.
