1000 Miglia Charity Project

Over the years our social commitment has grown in favour of public assistance activities in the area. This year 1000 Miglia S.r.l. announced its intention, for the second consecutive year, to organize a charity dinner with the aim to raise funds to be donated to the extension of the Croce Bianca vehicle park and thus contribute to the purchase of an ambulance.

Based on the preventive measures taken by the Government for the Coronavirus emergency, we inform you reluctantly about the cancellation of the Charity Dinner.

The health emergency has put a strain on the organization of this particular initiative, but not the willingness to help.

This is why the resources initially allocated to the Charity Dinner were directed towards other charitable initiatives equally important for our territory, to help support the fight against Covid-19.

In the most difficult months of the pandemic, 1000 Miglia S.r.l, together with the Board of Directors of the Automobile Club Brescia, offered its contribution through financial support to the first aid organisations in the province of Brescia, which played a decisive role, to support them in meeting the extraordinary costs involved in managing the Covid-19 emergency. The resources, amounting to 200,000 Euros, were allocated to AC Brescia’s initiative “SOSTENIAMO CHI CI STA AIUTANDO”  (WE SUPPORT THOSE WHO ARE HELPING US) together with 1000 Miglia S.r.l. in the form of electronic fuel vouchers (worth 100,000 Euros) and to support emergency management costs (worth 100,000 Euros).

In addition, to further support the healthcare system in Brescia, in April 1000 Miglia S.r.l. involved the designer Luca Roda in the reinterpretation of the logo of the 1000 Miglia 2020 edition, which gave rise to a very important project in support of “AiutiAMO Brescia” (We help Brescia). The famous Winged Victory in the logo, symbol of the city of Brescia, has taken the form of all the doctors and nurses who have worked, and continue to work, to cope with the fight against the virus. This image, which refers to a supportive embrace, has been the protagonist of a capsule collection of articles for sale on the website www.millemigliashop.com.

A special thanks goes to all the people who have supported the cause by purchasing a piece of this dedicated collection, demonstrating a great spirit of solidarity in this occasion as well.

To date, fundraising from the initiative to support the healthcare system in Brescia amounts to 23,000 Euros (of which 10,000 Euros derived from direct contributions and 13,000 Euros from the waiver of royalties on sales).

The most beautiful race in the world this year goes a little further thanks to everyone who helps, towards a culture made of attention to the community and the territory.
