Created to bring the spirit of the Red Arrow to life in a more flexible format that combines a regularity race with the pleasure of touring and discovery, this year’s event is presented as a sophisticated spring prologue in the Centenary year. The event will welcome a maximum of 60 crews, ranging from historic icons (manufactured from the brand’s inception up to 2000) to modern cars (manufactured from 2001 to the present day). Priority in the selection process will be given to cars built up to 1990.
The itinerary will take participants through the art and nature of Tuscany, setting off from the heart of Florence, with the operational base in the splendid setting of Piazza Santa Maria Novella. From here, the route will take the cars to Vinci for a series of trials in Leonardo’s birthplace and a guided tour following in the footsteps of the famous inventor, before returning to the Tuscan regional capital.
The second day will begin with a guided tour of the Florentine Renaissance, followed by the crews tackling the scenic hilly roads of Chianti until lunch in the historic village of Fonterutoli. The journey will then continue through unique towns such as San Gimignano, Pontedera and Pisa, heading towards Pietrasanta. The historic centre of this city of art will be the setting for the thrilling 1-on-1 challenge, but it will also be the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif and discover “Little Athens” on a guided tour.
Saturday 3 April the convoy will head south, passing through unique landscapes and places such as Lucca and San Miniato, with the final leg concluding in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Saturnia, where participants will be able to take in the beauty of the spa town at their leisure before the gala dinner and prize-giving ceremony.
