The final leg of the Coppa delle Alpi St. Moritz Edition is now in full swing. The finish line in St. Moritz is drawing ever closer, and we are on the verge of finding out who will be the winner, in a neck-and-neck battle for the top positions.
This afternoon, the crews faced a truly special transfer, an absolute first in the 1000 Miglia winter race: they boarded a train with their cars to travel the more than 19 kilometres through the Vereina railway tunnel linking Klosters and Susch.
Among the drivers competing today is Patrizio Bertelli, Chairman of the Prada Group and owner of the America’s Cup team Luna Rossa. Beside him, in their 1965 Ferrari 275 Gtb, is the experienced navigator Carlo Cassina.
“As for the America’s Cup and Luna Rossa, it is now mainly my two sons who are running the project on an operational level,” says Bertelli. “Being here at the Coppa delle Alpi with these cars is always a great pleasure. I’d like to return to racing in the 1000 Miglia too, but in my Porsche 550 Spyder RS.”
