The bold and innovative spirit has always been an integral part of the DNA of the Freccia Rossa.
It is also for this reason that 1000 Miglia Srl addresses today’s challenges related to sustainable development with determination. The company, in collaboration with specialized consultants, has embarked on a structured and ambitious journey aimed at offsetting the environmental impact of its events and activities.
The first step in this direction was the calculation of the carbon footprint of the Coppa delle Alpi 2023, carried out in accordance with ISO 14067. The project then continued with the offsetting of 100% of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated by the event through the purchase of internationally recognized carbon credits, as well as with the implementation of a Carbon Management strategy. This strategy included both emission reduction and offsetting measures, making the Coppa delle Alpi 2023 a carbon-neutral event.
At the same time, an analysis of the carbon footprint of 1000 Miglia Srl for the year 2022 was conducted in compliance with ISO 14064. This analysis confirmed the total amount of the company’s greenhouse gas emissions, as the organizer of all Freccia Rossa events.
In 2024, the objective was to identify a systematic, replicable method applicable to all events organized by the company. This process led to the achievement of the prestigious ISO 14067 “Systematic Approach” certification, which attests that the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions follows a robust methodology based on international best practices. The process was verified by Bureau Veritas, acting as an independent third-party body, to provide assurance to all stakeholders. As a result, all events organized by 1000 Miglia Srl can now declare compliance with ISO 14067.
In addition, the correct accounting of the GHG emissions inventory of the 1000 Miglia organization in accordance with ISO 14064-1 has been confirmed. Once again, Bureau Veritas carried out a new verification with a positive outcome, demonstrating the continuity and solidity of the commitment undertaken.
