The Red Arrow in the heart of the Romagna Riviera
The first leg of the 1000 Miglia 2023 ended in one of the main tourist resorts of the Romagna Riviera: on 13th June the Red Arrow arrived in Cervia. Founded as a salt mining town, its past can still be felt today among the ancient and imposing Salt Warehouses and the San Michele Tower. In the seaside town, along the canal port, the warmth and liveliness of a typical fishing village with its small terraced houses shines through. A 9-km-long beachfront offers opportunities for fun and pure relaxation. Welcoming and hospitable, it is appreciated throughout Europe for the quality of its services. There are many locations immersed in nature: from the green of the pine forests to the blue of the sea, the white of the salt mounds, the pink of the flamingos that populate the Salina (Saltern), the southern station of the Po Delta Park. Guests are also welcomed by the flavours of both the traditional and more innovative Romagna cuisines, which make use a special ingredient: the sweet salt of Cervia.

The #SorrentoRoads2024 that took crews to the most beautiful corners of Campania has come to an end 🏁
For the third year running, Alfonso Facchini and Luigia Olivetti in a 1938 B.M.W 328 triumphed in the third edition of the event by #1000Miglia! 🚗🥇
On the podium in second place were Tarcisio Bonomi e Patrizia Codini in a 1955 Porsche 356 1500 Speedster🥈, and on the third step Alessandro Girardi e Simonetta Mastellini in a 1955 Porsche 356 1500 Coupé🥉
Riccardo Fiorentini and Giovanna Ceci in a 1972 Porsche 911 2.4 T Targa won the “Città di Sorrento Trophy” 🏆

🏆 The winners, for the popular jury, of the #SorrentoRoads2024 show competition held between the gardens of the Fondazione Sorrento and Piazza Andrea Veniero are:
📸 a 1959 Mercedes-Benz 300 S Roadster for best design and style in the historic category (up to 1980)
📸 a 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo for best design and a 2008 Ferrari California for best style in the modern category (from 1980)
Following the car exhibition, the crews reached the island of Capri by sea, where they enjoyed the breathtaking scenery of one of the world’s most sought-after tourist destinations 🌊
After returning to the peninsula, the drivers and co-drivers prepared for the 1 vs 1 knockout regularity challenges for the 3rd “Città di Sorrento Trophy” 🏁🚗

🏆 A vincere, per la giuria popolare, il concorso espositivo della #SorrentoRoads2024 che si è tenuto tra i giardini della Fondazione Sorrento e Piazza Andrea Veniero sono:
📸 una Mercedes-Benz 300 S Roadster del 1959 per miglior design e stile della categoria storiche (fino al 1980)

Drivers and co-drivers resumed their journey with Time Trials in the splendid setting of the Marina di Arechi - Salerno Port Village 🌊
Before leaving the southern gulf of the Sorrento peninsula, the cars animated the central streets of Salerno where the Passage Control was dedicated to the Automobile Club of Salerno ⏱️
After the last time trials along the Sorrentina National Road, the cars passed through Vico Equense📍
The race day ended with the return of the crews to Sorrento, with the last passage control at Piazza Veniero in Sorrento that confirmed the winners of the third edition of the Sorrento Roads: Alfonso Facchini and Luigia Olivetti in a B.M.W 328 from 1938 🏆

La giornata di gara si è conclusa con il ritorno degli equipaggi a Sorrento, con l’ultimo controllo timbro presso la Piazza Veniero di Sorrento che ha sancito i vincitori della terza edizione della Sorrento Roads: Alfonso Facchini e Luigia Olivetti a bordo di una B.M.W 328 del 1938 🏆

More than 200 km have been driven on this race day 🔛🚗
Today, the cars took part in the regularity challenge that, from Piazza Andrea Veniero in Sorrento, climbed towards Sant’Agata sui due Golfi and reached the Nastro Verde for the first Time Trials 🕐
The passage through Positano, Praiano, Amalfi and Minori and the second block of Time Trials in the port of Maiori offered the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. The crews then continued along the coast on the slopes of the Valle dell’Irno towards Salerno and Cilento 🌅
After stopping for lunch in Capaccio, the competitors visited the Paestum Archaeological Park, home to prehistoric, Greek and Roman buildings, leaving the competing cars on display in the splendid setting in front of the excavations ✨

Sono più di 200 i km percorsi in questa giornata di gara 🔛🚗
Oggi, le auto si stanno cimentando nella sfida di regolarità che, da Piazza Andrea Veniero a Sorrento è salita verso Sant’Agata sui due Golfi e ha raggiunto il Nastro Verde per le prime Prove Cronometrate 🕐
Il passaggio da Positano, Praiano, Amalfi e Minori e il secondo blocco di Prove Cronometrate nel porto di Maiori hanno offerto la bellezza della Costiera Amalfitana, gli equipaggi hanno poi proseguito lungo la costa alle pendici della Valle dell’Irno verso Salerno e il Cilento 🌅
Dopo la sosta per il pranzo a Capaccio, i concorrenti hanno visitato il Parco Archeologico di Paestum, sede di costruzioni preistoriche, greche e romane, lasciando in esposizione le auto in gara nella splendida cornice davanti agli scavi ✨

The competitors reached the town of Sorrento where technical and administrative checks were held on the day in the Villa Fiorentino Park, involving the 30 crews in the race.
🚗 Challenging last year’s winner, a 1938 BMW 328, will be numerous models from Bugatti, B.M.W, Alfa Romeo, Porsche, Lancia, Fiat, Jaguar, Mercedes, Morgan, Triumph, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini and Ferrari.

The list of cars that have been accepted for the #1000Miglia2024 is now official 📄 🚗
3️⃣3️⃣ countries are represented with Italy having the largest number of competitors.
7️⃣1️⃣ cars took part in the historic 1000 Miglia race.
Only in the roster of the 1000 Miglia can these pre-war Alfa Romeos and Bugattis be admired: the complete list includes 5️⃣0️⃣ Alfa Romeos, with a rare block of 6C 1750s and three 8Cs, 3️⃣1️⃣ Porsches, 2️⃣7️⃣ Jaguars, 2️⃣5️⃣ Mercedes Benz, 2️⃣1️⃣ Ferraris and 1️⃣7️⃣ Bugattis.
The cars accepted for the #1000Miglia2024, as a guarantee of excellence and authenticity, are all registered in accordance with the regulations of the Registro 1000 Miglia.
